Government guidelines recommend that men should not regularly exceed more than 3-4 units a day. Alcohol can have adverse effects on your physical and mental wellbeing and regularly drinking more than the recommended amount will put you at increased risk of infertility, liver disease, heart disease and some types of cancer.
The Drink Aware Trust has a really useful website containing helpful advice on ways to make sure you don’t drink too much. They have a drinks calculator to help you work out how many units are in your favorite drink as well as the drinkcheck tool to help you find out whether your drinking habits are putting you at risk.
