What is Safeguarding?

This is a leaflet about safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people.

This leaflet is for anyone interested in finding out more about safeguarding children and young people.

The leaflet explains:

  • what safeguarding is and what it includes

  • the ways in which safeguarding is carried out

  • how to recognise abuse

  • the different types of abuse

  • what to do if you are worried that child or young person is at risk of being abused or neglected

  • who you should contact if you need to report abuse.
