Healthy eating advice and support is available across the borough.

Boost Wandsworth  This is a free nutrition and physical activity programme for children aged 2 to 5 and their parents or carers. A qualified dietician will help you learn about good nutrition and your child’s health while an exercise specialist will lead your child in a fun activity session. Beat-It This is a free, fun and interactive programme  for children/young people aged 5-18yrs and their families, to help with becoming more active and making healthy food choices.  Children and young people can attend a session with others of a similar age and the whole family can attend some of the sessions too.  The sessions are held at venues across Wandsworth, at weekends, after school and during the holidays.  After the programme, some of the older age-group may be able to access vouchers to help pay for local physical activities too.  To find out more, call 020 8871 8357, or email

Change4Life is a national initiative to help individuals and families ‘eat well, move more and live longer’. The Change4Life website contains loads of ideas, recipes, games and apps to help you make positive lifestyle changes. You can also register with Change4 Life to get access to more tips, recipes, competitions and offers.

NHS Choices
The NHS Choices website is the country's biggest health website and gives all the information you need to make choices about your health. The ‘Livewell’ section is the healthy living section of the site, where you can find information and advice on healthy eating for all ages. There are also video clips, online tools and recipes.

British Dietetic Association
Dietitians use the most up to date public health and scientific research on food, health and disease, to provide practical guidance to help people to make good lifestyle and food choices. The BDA Food Fact Sheets are free to download from the website. They cover a wide range of topics on healthy eating for different age groups and conditions.

The British Nutrition Foundation
This website offers advice and tips on how to put healthy eating and active lifestyle in to practice, for life. There is wide range of information about healthy eating during all stages of the life and on general nutrition topics.  

The Children’s Food Trust
The Children’s Food Trust is a UK organisation to improve the nutrition of school meals, providing news, information, guidance, resources, resources and research. The trust has created a set of free resources for Early Years settings.
