Mental Health

Early Help Hub

The mental health services that are available for children and families include all levels from universal through to specialist.

Universal mental health services are those that provide information to support good mental health and well being.

Targeted mental health services or Tier 2 services, provide support a child who is vulnerable and requires some more tailored support over a short period of time.

Specialist mental health services or Tiers 3 and 4, for example the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), are for children and young people with more complex or long term mental health needs. The current CAMHS Transformation Plan is available to view.

Referral to Tiers 2, 3 and 4 should be done as part of an Early Help Assessment, Team Around the Child plan, and made to the single point of referral known as the Access Team.

The Schools and Community Psychology Service (SCPS) works with partners in education, health and social care in a number of different services and settings to improve inclusion and well being for those with additional or special educational needs.
