Early Years SEND Inclusion

Advice about babies and children 0-5 years old with SEND or who may have additional needs is available from several sources.

Where you find help will depend on what stage you are at in your child's assessment and diagnosis.  Initially, your GP (doctor), midwife (for newborns) or health visitor will be able to give you advice and make necessary referrals. If they cannot help you themselves, they will refer your child to a specialist clinic, therapist, nurse or doctor for further assessment.

For general SEND support, information and guidance please contact:

SEND AllKind, Wandsworth's SEND family support service

If you think your child has emerging, complex needs or a specific disability, you can contact the Early Years SEND Inclusion Team. The EY SEND Inclusion Team consists of three different strands, supporting children under five depending on their differing needs.

If you have concerns about your child's learning, physical or social, emotional and behavioural development, your GP, nursery/school, hospital or the can refer you to Early Years Inclusion Service or the Schools and Community Psychology Service (SCPS).

If you are worried about your child's mental health, then you can ask your GP to refer your child to the ACCESS Child and Youth Mental Health Service, you can also contact them direct.
