How to raise funding concerns

Having a problem with your child's funded childcare hours?

The following steps walk you through what to do if you are concerned about funded childcare hours or entitlements.

Step 1 - keep a record

Write down dates, hours promised, hours received and any decisions

Step 2 - speak to provider

Explain the issue and share your records with the childcare provider. Ask for their complaints process.

Step 3 - use their complaints process

Be sure to include dates, funded hours promised, hours received and what outcome you want. Keep copies of all replies received. If it is not resolved, make a formal written complaint to the provider.

Step 4 - contact the Local Authority

If you still have concerns, complete the Local Authority online form.

Step 5 - get advice

If you are still unhappy, seek independent advice before considering legal action. Citizens Advice are one organisation who can give advice.
