I achieved the grades that I needed to get on to my preferred 6th Form or College course.
Congratulations on receiving your exam results! Now you need to enrol with your chosen school or college. Please let your EHCP Co-ordinator know that you have enrolled so that they can name your new school or college on your EHCP.
I’m staying at my special school, 6th form or college and/or my EHCP already has the school/college/training provider I will attend in Section i.
Follow any enrolment procedures that the school/ college requires. You do not need to do anything regarding your EHCP.
I didn’t achieve the grades I needed for my preferred 6th Form or College What do I do?
We are sorry to hear that you did not get the grades you expected. Although this maybe disappointing there are still lots of options open to you.
Chat with the 6th form or college and ask if they can make an exception to enrol you on a course or whether they could put you on a lower level of your course. Colleges will also allow you to continue to study English and Maths up to a grade 4 if you haven’t yet reached that level.
If you are still unable to enrol you can look at other local colleges or 6th forms, consider an apprenticeship or a different course. Most colleges have an open enrolment from the GCSE results day until mid -September.

I have changed my mind about the 6th Form/ College/ apprenticeship that I want to attend.
We understand that you might want to change your mind. You can make an application to your preferred education setting or go to open enrolment. Please let your co-ordinator know where you are applying to so that they can send a copy of your EHCP to make sure you have the right support in place.
When should I enrol in my course?
The school/college may have already let you know when to enrol via an offer letter. However, most colleges enrolment is open from GCSE results day until mid- end of September. We would encourage you to go to enrolment as soon as possible so that you can enrol in your desired course.
What should I take to enrolment?
GCSE results certificates and any other relevant qualifications your ID e.g. passport, birth certificate, driving license. Anything else that school/college may have asked you to bring.
I’m not sure I want to attend a 6th form or a college. What other options are available?
You can look at an apprenticeship, a supported internship or employment.

I don’t know what I want to do.
We understand that it can be difficult to decide on a new course or education provider.
The government asks that all young people between 16-18 years or age are in education, employment or training.
Talk to your family, trusted professional such as a teacher, social worker so that they can support you.
Talk to your EHCP co-ordinator to let them know; they will be able to guide you on what is available. You can also speak to the Post-16 Participation team or the Wandsworth Information Advice and Support Service.
I have missed enrolment/ have not been able to enrol
Contact your desired school/ college in the first instance and see if they are able to make a late enrolment. Please also contact you EHC Co-ordinator or Post-16 team to discuss your situation. If you miss the enrolment in September there may not be an opportunity to join the course or college you want until the following year as courses run from September to September. We would encourage you to enrol as soon as possible.
