Short Breaks

Short Breaks give children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) the chance to spend time away from their families, gain independence, learn new skills and have fun with friends.

Short breaks also give parents and carers of children and young people with SEND, the chance to have a "break" from their caring responsibilities, to rest, spend time with their other children, or to enjoy a leisure activity themselves.

The Wandsworth's Short Breaks offer is designed to give families of children with disabilities access to a range of different short breaks opportunities.

Wherever possible we want families to be able to access their breaks without the need for further assessment. Please find information about assessment and Direct Payments for Short Breaks.
