Carers Allowance

This is a benefit for parents and carers who look after a disabled child or adult for at least 35 hours a week. 

The disabled person must get Disability Living Allowance (DLA) at the middle or higher rate for personal care.

• or, contact the Carer's Allowance Unit who can send you a claim form. Tell them if you need the claim form in an alternative format, such as Braille.
