Growing Beans Tooting Preschool

Growing Beans Tooting Preschool is part of Lucky Beans Childcare, a small group of boutique nurseries and preschools across South West London. Based at 227 Mitcham Road, we care for children aged 3 to 5 in a warm, home away from home setting led by founder Dr Caroline Curtis.

Our curriculum blends EYFS learning with a Forest School ethos, helping children build the confidence, resilience and independence they need before starting school. Alongside outdoor exploration, children take part in structured activities such as music, Spanish, tennis, football and ballet, led by outside specialists.

We keep our setting small so every child gets individual attention from our team, who are trained in the full Lucky Beans philosophy. Our staff to child ratio for this age group is one to eight, rising when we are outdoors so children can explore safely.

A typical day includes drop offs and breakfast from 7:30am, free play and sensory activities, time outdoors, lunch, quiet time or free play, an afternoon snack, structured activities, supper, and pick up between 5:30pm and 6:30pm. We are open 7:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday, all year round except bank holidays and inset days.

Meals are prepared by our in house chefs, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks a day. We cater for all dietary requirements and allergies.

We offer the 15 and 30 funded hours for qualifying children, with as much flexibility as possible for how families use them. A 10% sibling discount applies to the child with the smallest post funded hours bill, where applicable.

Many of our children join us from our sister setting, Growing Beans Tooting Nursery, just across the road at 226 Mitcham Road, moving up to us once they turn 3 and continuing their Lucky Beans journey through to school age.
