Wandsworth Youth Justice Service Harmful Sexual Behaviour Consultation Service

Wandsworth Youth Justice Service and its in house CAMHS Tier 2 Service provide an assessment and treatment programme for young offenders who have been given a community order through the courts for offences involving harmful sexual behaviour.

As part of this programme the Wandsworth Youth Justice Service CAMHS psychologists provide a consultation service to other agencies and services in the Wandsworth Borough who are working with young people displaying harmful sexual behaviour.

This consultation can provide:

Guidance on normal sexual behaviour versus worrying and abusive behaviour.
Help understanding the complex relationship between childhood adversity, mental health difficulties and possible harmful sexual behaviour.
Advice in managing the young person and joint working with other agencies involved.
Recommendations and signposting around referring to specialist services for assessment and intervention.
