Growing Beans Tooting Nursery
Growing Beans Tooting is a small, friendly nursery on Mitcham Road caring for babies and toddlers aged 0 to 2. We blend the EYFS curriculum with a Forest School ethos, giving children daily time outdoors to explore, build confidence and grow at their own pace. Founded by Dr Caroline Curtis, our team creates a warm, home away from home environment where every child is known individually. When ready, children can move up to our sister preschool just across the road.
Growing Beans Tooting is part of Lucky Beans Childcare, a small group of boutique nurseries across South West London. Based at 226 Mitcham Road, we care for babies and toddlers aged 0 to 2 in a warm, home away from home setting led by founder Dr Caroline Curtis.
Our approach blends the EYFS curriculum with a Forest School ethos. Children spend plenty of time outdoors each day, building confidence, resilience and a love of nature alongside structured learning that supports communication, physical, personal, social and emotional development.
We keep our nursery small so children get plenty of individual attention. Our staff are trained in the full Lucky Beans philosophy, with ratios of one staff member to three children for our 0 to 2 age group, rising when we are outdoors so children can explore safely.
A typical day includes drop offs and breakfast from 7:30am, free play and sensory activities, time outdoors, lunch, naps for younger children, an afternoon snack, structured activities such as music or movement, supper, and pick up between 5:30pm and 6:30pm. We are open 7:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday, all year round except bank holidays and inset days.
Meals are prepared by our in house chefs, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks a day. We cater for all dietary requirements and allergies, and have supported many children through weaning.
We accept government-funded childcare hours for eligible families, including support from the term after a child turns nine months. Our admissions team can talk you through how funding works and what it means for your fees.
When your child turns two, they can move seamlessly to our sister setting, Growing Beans Tooting Preschool, just across the road at 227 Mitcham Road, continuing their Lucky Beans journey through to school age.

Venue Notes
We offer childcare at this nursery within the hours of 7:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday for the regular schedule. Our other nurseries in Streatham, Norbury and Tooting open Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:30pm as well.
Date and Time
We are open Monday to Friday all year apart from bank holidays and 3 inset days a year.
Costs
£11.45 per hour (0 to 2 year olds).
£11.10 per hour (2 to 3 year olds).
Closed for Bank Holidays (paid).
Please note the minimum charge per day is for 10 hours.
A 10% sibling discount is applicable for the child which has the smallest post funded-hours (if applicable) bill.
Inclusion Information
The great majority of our staff are first aid trained. We have deep experience caring for children with SEND needs and can discuss this with you prior to you signing a contract with us. We are very receptive to accommodating allergies and religious requirements for meals.
