Home to School SEND Travel Assistance - Application Process
Home to school travel assistance is provided by the SEND Travel Assistance team
Wandsworth council is committed to promoting greater independence and ability to children/young people with SEND who may need additional support when travelling from home to school.

How to apply
An online application will need to be fully completed and submitted to the SEND Travel Assistance Team. If your child/young person currently receives Travel Assistance and they are changing school/home address, please go to the bottom of this page for the link to the application form.
The completed application will be assessed against DfE Guidelines, and the relevant SEND Travel Assistance Policy, for eligibility at a future weekly panel.
The panel’s decision will be communicated to the parent/carer within 10 working days.
A further 15 working days will be required in order to safely set up all agreed forms of SEND Travel Assistance.
The whole process can take up to approximately 1 month to complete.
Application form outcome
The panel decision will be communicated to the parents within 10 working days, after the application was assessed at the SEND Travel Assistance Panel, against DfE Guidance and the SEND Travel Assistance Policy.
Travel Assistance for the new academic school year (September)
The application form will need to be submitted by the last Friday of June. Application forms submitted after this date, may not be set up in time for the start of the new school year.
