Nightingale Community Academy
Nightingale Community Academy (NCA) is a special school where boys aged between 5 and 19 can find a safe and stimulating environment in which to learn.
The school carries out meticulous assessments in an effort to really know and understand the needs of every boy and works with community and family to deliver a curriculum that is varied, stimulating and sympathetic to the complex needs experienced by the children. Expert management and teaching of behaviour is routinely taught to facilitate high quality learning experiences and their broad offer encompasses speech, language & communication and occupational therapies.
Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust sponsored the school in 2016 and since 2017 Wandsworth residents (including girls) with additional learning needs have been co-located on the site. Boys who attend NCA are joined by boys and girls from other special and mainstream schools to make use of the purpose built vocational centre where they deliver mechanics, hospitality & catering, construction, animal care and horticulture.
Nightingale take pride in the development of young people who can take the knowledge and experiences they provide into the next phase of their education or training. They aim to instil community values that enable boys to live healthy and fulfilling lives; certain in the knowledge that they have developed the skills and independence necessary to engage fully in an ever more connected and challenging world.
