About the venue
St Mary's Church was built by local parishioners in early 19th century and during the 1880s, an elaborately decorated chancel, sanctuary, and reredos were added. In 1903, a Classical frontage replaced the original Greek Revival façade. Sitting on Balham High Road, the church and its surrounding area is also fondly known as Nappy Valley, and the Gateway to the South. It is calming and welcoming oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle of life.
