Tooting Library
The library is a place where you can go to find information, to borrow books, use the internet and other resources. Reading materials are available in a number of languages and formats.
The service can be used by all children, young people and adults.
Services available include:
- Books, Music, and DVDs
- e-Resources including eBooks, downloadable music and a wealth of information sources
- PCs with Internet access, Wi-Fi, scanning and printing
- Space in the building – for study and community use
- Activities and Events – for the young, the old and everyone in-between
- Specialist staff – to assist customers and answer a wide array of questions
- Heritage and Archives Services – for local and family history enquiries to academic studies
- Health and Wellbeing - from Books on Prescription to Oomph fitness classes
In order to borrow books or DVDs you need to join the library. To do this, you will need to complete a library application form and provide a proof of identity and address. You will then be given a library membership card, which you will need to have with you to borrow items.
Events
- Baby Ryme Times - Every Monday and Tuesday 10:00-10:30am (for ages 3 months to 2 years approx. and parents or carers.)
Fact finders and children’s book group - Every Monday 4:00-5:00pm (For curious minds aged 5-8 approx.)
- Children’s chess club - Every Tuesday 4:00-5:00pm (all ages and playing ability welcome)
Teen Book group - Third Thursday of the month: 4:30-5:30pm
Story time: Every Friday 10:00-10:30am (for ages 1-4 approx. and parents and carers)
Lego Builders - Every Saturday 10:00-12:00 (For all ages, children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult, NB: adults can join in too!)
Art club - Every Saturday 2:00-3:00pm (For all ages, children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult, NB: adults can join in too!)
Family story time - Sunday, Monthly, check date with library staff 02087670543 (All welcome but best suits ages 2-7)
Reading stars: various days and times mostly after school 4-6pm, one-to-one reading help for children ages 5-8. Must be pre-booked.
