The Placement Support Team
The Placement Support Team offer a wide variety of services dedicated to improving outcomes for Children Looked After by Wandsworth. This team includes social workers, clinical psychologists, placement support workers, a teacher, a drug and alcohol specialist and other trained workers.
This service is for all children aged 0-18 years looked after by Wandsworth as well as their carers.
The team offer packages of support which aim to:
- promote placement stability;
- improve attachments; and
- reduce anxiety and build resilience for children looked after and their carers.
All professionals working with Children Looked After, foster carers and young people are able to approach the team to discuss whether this service will be suitable for their needs.
The service also organise a variety of groups and events for foster carers and their children.
