Direct Payments
Direct payments are available to people who have been assessed by social services as needing help, and who would like to arrange and pay for their own care and support services instead of receiving them direct from the Council. Direct payments are a way of assisting people to gain greater independence in their lives and more control over their support arrangements.
You can apply to get direct payments if:
- you are disabled and aged 16 or over; or
- a parent or carer looking after a disabled child or young person.
You can read about using a personal budget, as a direct payment, to buy short breaks for your child in the new leaflet in downloads.
You can read more about RUILS in the Brochure in downloads.
For people aged 18 and over, contact the Access Team, part of Wandsworth's Adult Social Services, on 020 8871 7707 or email [javascript protected email address] Find more information on the website below.
If your child or young person is already known to the Supporting Disabled Children Service, please call the Duty Social Worker on 020 8871 6622 – option 1 – option 5 or email [javascript protected email address]
