Wandsworth Strategy for Children and Young People with SEND aged 0 – 25, 2020-2024

Wandsworth Children’s Services, NHS South-West London Clinical Commissioning Group (SWLCCG) and Positive Parent Action as the Local Area partners, offer a warm welcome to the readers of our SEND Strategy 2020 – 2024.

This strategy marks a significant point along our improvement journey in the Local Area to ensure individual children’s aspirations are heard, and their lives are improved from early years through adolescents to adulthood. To achieve this, we will ensure that that they are kept at the heart of everything we do.

Accompanying the Strategy is our associated Action Plan. This gives detail to what we plan to achieve and the activity we will do in the local area to get there. Also included is how we will know our actions have been successful. Each of the actions comes under one of the 5 Outcomes – Safe & Secure, Achieve & Aspire, Healthy Mind, Healthy Body, Respected & Involved and Prepared for Adulthood. We will review the Action Plan on a yearly basis.

Children are at the heart of everything we do in Wandsworth. We have worked closely with children and young people to develop a version of the strategy that details in their words, pictures and icons what improvements we will make, and who might be involved in supporting them throughout the Local Area.
