The services and support you may need for babies and children 0-8 years old will vary depending on your child's age, disability or special need, and many other factors.

Your GP (doctor), midwife (for newborns), or health visitor, should be able to signpost you to the most appropriate service for further assessment or special advice that you may need for your child, if they cannot help you themselves.

For initial support, advice and information about a child with a disability or special need please contact:

SEND In Mind, Wandsworth's general SEND family support service.

They can support you with signposting to appropriate services or help with referrals and applications for support.

If you think your child has complex needs or a specific disability, you can contact the Early Years Inclusion Service. This service has a team of professionals with a range of experience in assessing children from 0-8 years.

If you have concerns about your child's learning, physical or social, emotional and behavioural development, your GP, nursery/school, hospital or the Early Years SEND Support Service can refer you to the Schools and Community Psychology Service  if appropriate.

If you are worried about your child's mental health, you can ask your GP to refer your child to the ACCESS Child and Youth Mental Health Service,  or contact them directly to discuss your concerns.
