Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) - Springfield Hospital

This is a multi-disciplinary service providing a specialised service for children and young people with severe, complex and persistent mental health disorders. It provides a comprehensive (Tier 3*) assessment and treatment service.

This service is for children and young people up to the age of 18 registered with a Wandsworth GP, their families and/or carers across the borough, focusing on those with severe and enduring mental health problems.

If you want a referral to CAMHS, you need to contact the ACCESS Child and Youth Mental Health Service who are the single point of referral, providing access to help for children and young people in Wandsworth up to the age of 18 years, who may have mental health needs.

ACCESS and Wandsworth CAMHS are not emergency services.  If you have a child or young person who requires emergency assistance, then contact the child’s GP or go to the A&E Department at St George’s Hospital in Tooting, London SW17.

CAMHS Team members include child and adolescent psychiatrists, social workers, clinical psychologists, community psychiatric nurses, child psychotherapists, occupational therapists, art, music and drama therapists.

Routine referrals continue to be via our Single Point of Access (SPA): 0203 513 6631 and wandsworthcamhsreferrals@swlstg.nhs.uk

We have now extended our online Counselling provision via KOOTHS which is available to all Wandsworth young people. They can self-refer to this confidential service. Please visit www.kooth.com

We have now also set up a 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Mental Health Support Line for all young people in Crisis: 0800 028 8000, so you can phone during evenings and weekends as well as any other times.

Please do not go to A&E if you are in crisis, instead we have set up the Orchid Crisis Unit at Springfield Hospital, which you may be advised to attend once you have phoned the Crisis Line, above.
