National Citizen Scheme (NCS)

The National Citizen Scheme (NCS) is a great opportunity for 15-17 year olds to try new things, have new experiences and gain confidence.
Young people can put this on their personal statement when applying to UCAS and will gain skills that are useful later on in life.
The scheme is divided up into 3 sections:
- week 1: a week long residential where young people will take part in activities such as rock climbing, canoeing and archery;
- week 2: young people will live in uni-style accommodation with their team and learn independent skills such as cooking, along with other skills that look great on a CV;
- weeks 3 and 4: the previous 2 weeks will be put into action and young people will plan and fundraise for a social action project in their community.
