One Trust Tooting Community Social Base
Tooting Community Social Base offers a range of day activities for adults with learning disabilities. The base is part of One Trust, a charity that specialises in personalised services with a community focus.
The Tooting Base is the largest of our spaces making it the perfect venue to hold a celebratory event or seasonal party. Based across a number of rooms within St. Boniface’s halls, the team at Tooting Base support individuals with a wide range of abilities and needs, and offer individual programmes tailored to the choices and aspirations of those attending.
The group have access to the main hall, and the team use the space to encourage regular keep fit and games sessions. We also offer chair based exercise groups for those with limited mobility. Our music and art tutors attend Tooting Base weekly, and members travel to Church Lane (a 5 minute walk away) to utilise the garden, sensory room and music therapy services.
People joining the base are also able to make use of other resources of the charity, including evening/weekend respite and music therapy services.
Most people access the service through a social work referral, but the service also accepts direct referrals (both self-funders and people in receipt of a local authority/NHS personal budget), continuing care referrals, and referrals from outside of the borough.
