Stay Put, Stay Safe Scheme
The "Stay Put, Stay Safe" scheme is for people at risk of homelessness because of domestic violence. Under the scheme the council will install a number of measures to secure your home and improve your personal security.
The scheme is voluntary and open to; council tenants, private sector tenants (landlords' consent is required to fit additional security), owner-occupiers and housing association tenants.
The service can offer:
- a simple change of lock
- fitting of a heavy-duty door; and
- a safe room.
