Al Risalah Secondary School (formerly Balham Preparatory School)

The Al Risalah School was founded to put into practice Islamic and educational values.

The school teaches boys and girls from ages 11-16.

The Al Risalah Education Trust, with the support of parents and the community, was founded in the 1990’s to fulfil the vision of the South London Muslim community to educate its children and assist in giving children a stronger understanding of their spiritual, moral, social, cultural and religious backgrounds in the context of modern British citizenship.

The school has invested in the following facilities:

• Interactive smartboards in all classrooms
• New library area
• New ICT suite for cross-curricular work
• New computers and school network system
• Online merit reward system with ‘school shop’ to purchase items.
• Dedicated rooms for Prefects, Hall Monitors and a Careers Room.
• Student council and Charity/Worship representatives
• Inter-faith events with other schools and organisations
• Use of outdoor space provided by local council for lunchtimes and PE
