Education Welfare Service

The Education Welfare Service aims to help young people to make the most of school.
This service is for parents and carers.
They help by providing information and guidance on how to get your child:
- to school on time;
- to attend regularly;
- to recognise signs of non-attendance; and
- they will explain the parent's legal duty to make sure their child attends full time education.
The service is also responsible for advice and licensing arrangements for children and young people who want to work.
Parents can contact the service directly for advice or ask at their child's school for a meeting with an Education Welfare Officer.
