Child Benefit

Child Benefit is a tax-free payment that parents claim for their children.  There are separate rates payable for each child. 

Child Benefit payments usually stop when the child reaches 16, unless they are in education or training.  It is not paid beyond age 20.

Child Benefit:

  • is a regular payment for each child; and
  • flexible, it is paid monthly but can be paid weekly

The payment can be claimed by anyone who qualifies, whatever their income or savings. Call or visit the website for more information.
