London Taxicard

London Taxicard provides subsidised transport in taxis and private-hire vehicles for people who have serious mobility or visual impairment and difficulty in using public transport.

Taxicard holders make journeys in licensed London taxis and private hire vehicles, and the subsidy applies directly to each trip. The London Taxicard Scheme is funded by participating London boroughs and the Mayor of London. London Councils Transport and Environment Committee (TEC) manages the London Taxicard Scheme on their behalf.

Who is eligible?

In order to be automatically eligible for the scheme you should live in Wandsworth and be:

  • getting the higher rate mobility component of the disability Living Allowance, or
  • registered as severely sight impaired/blind (being partially sighted does not allow automatic entry), or
  • receive a war pension Mobility Supplement

Please note that documentary evidence will be required.

You may also qualify if you:

  • Have a permanent and substantial disability, which causes an inability to walk or very considerable difficulty in walking.

An assessment by the Council's Mobility Assessor may be required if you do not automatically qualify for a blue badge.
