Yvonne Carr Family Hub

Yvonne Carr family hub provides a welcoming space where you can access services in the heart of your community.

This autumn, we’re launching new services from Yvonne Carr, as well as the regular children’s centre services you can expect from the centre.

What support is there for parents?
From breastfeeding classes to Stay, Play and Learn sessions, we have activities and support for both you and your little ones. We have a SEND Parenting Group where you can get advice and support as well as a drop-in with a speech and language therapist. We can also help with nursery applications and form-filling.

Can someone help me with housing advice?
Yes! We have drop-in housing advice sessions every Wednesday morning where you can ask any questions you may have about issues such as repairs and maintenance, mould or if you’re having problems with affording your rent.

I feel isolated – who can I speak to?
Whether you have lived in Wandsworth a long time or you’ve recently settled here, we have different social groups you can join at Yvonne Carr to connect with your local community.

What benefits am I entitled to?
Our friendly staff will be able to help you access all the support you’re entitled to, including free school meals and school uniform support

Can I get help finding a job?
If you’re looking for a career change or a new job, we have a Young People’s Job Club three times a week for those not in employment, education or training. We also have people on hand to help with advice for getting a job and CV writing.

What can I learn here?
We have courses for parents, those looking to develop their key skills including digital literacy and those who want to save money by minimising food waste. If English isn’t your first language, we can help with ESOL courses.

What is there for young people?
We have a youth group run by FAST which meets Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week to support positive relationships and helps young people grow and develop through activities that build resilience and hope for the future. Ask for Shae at reception. We also offer advice and support on substance misuse.

Our staff are here to help – just ask!

Enhanced Children's Centre
