Service children and young people, statutory assessments of Education Health and Care (EHC) needs

When a Service child or young person, 0-25 years old, requires a statutory assessment of their Education Health and Care (EHC) needs, the local authority must seek advice from the Children’s Education Advisory Service (CEAS).
CEAS is part of the Ministry of Defence’s (MOD’s) Directorate for Children and Young People (DCYP).
To be a Service child:
- the child must be permanently resident; and
- with at least one parent who is currently serving in HM Armed Forces.
If you are assessing a Service child, please contact CEAS by telephone or fax, see below or email enquiries@ceas.uk.com and mark your email “Statutory Assessment Advice".
