South Thames Colleges

South Thames College consists of three college sites within the borough of Wandsworth (Wandsworth, Roehampton and Tooting), with another, Aurora, in Merton, a specialist centre for 16-25 year olds with an autistic spectrum disorder and/or complex needs. Each site has different courses available.

The minimum age you can attend the college is 14 years.

The college prepares students in basic skills as well as accredited courses up to Level 3, including A levels and Higher Education, offering HND, HNC and other HE courses.  Apprenticeships include plumbing, childcare and dental technician.   Classes take place during the day and in the evening. Part-time and full-time courses are also available.

These courses include:

  • Business and Computing;
  • English and maths;
  • apprenticeships; and 
  • ESOL

There are childcare facilities at some of the centres and they provide access and special facilities for people with physical and learning disabilities.

South Thames College welcomes learners with learning difficulties or disabilities and provide support to make sure you’re successful in your learning.

There are three main pathways for learners with learning difficulties or disabilities:

1. Mainstream courses with learner support

2. Skills for Working Life for students with a moderate learning disability

3.The Aurora Centre for students with autistic spectrum disorder and complex needs
