Anja's Home Grown Little Acorn Childcare

We are a husband and wife team and we are Ofsted Registered Childminders based on Sutherland Grove, Southfields, SW18 5QU, London. Our company is called Home Grown Little Acorn Childcare. We want to give the children in our care the same care they would receive at home and from a little acorn grows a mighty oak! We believe that the skills, manners, confidence and integrity with which we mind these children they can become mighty adults.

My husband and I have two lovely children, aged 14 years and 16 years old, who are both in school. After having our son, I decided to register as a Childminder as I saw so many of my friends facing the challenge of finding someone who will not only care for their children but love them and care for them with enthusiasm and excitement. This was the best thing I could ever have done as I absolutely love minding! In April 2017 my husband, Ryan, decided to join me as he could see the immense difference I was making in the lives of these children and their families. This was not just a job paying a salary but a vocation and an honour to play such a vital role in the children's development and lives.

We love the challenges each child brings and finding new and exciting ways of helping them to learn and develop into well balanced, confident and caring children. Parents often tell us that it's made it so much easier for them to return to work as they can see how happy their children are with us. What a privilege that is!

We do plenty of fun activities, including: painting and crafts, baking, dancing and singing, creative play, water, sand, play dough and other messy play and trips to the park.

We also attend great local playgroups all year and visit the local animal farm on occasion.

We have a garden which the kids just love with some play equipment (trampoline, playhouse, climbing frame and slide), ride on toys, balls and racquets etc. Weather permitting the kids spend a lot of their time in the garden if we are home.

At Home Grown Little Acorn we believe children need to be allowed to play and have fun exploring their surroundings in a safe environment and we encourage the children to experience the different objects and textures around them.

My husband and I are both fully DBS checked with Paediatric first aid, Level 3 Child development diploma, Food Hygiene Certificate and many more and we are insured. We are on the Wandsworth Childcare register. We have a full, clean driving licence and use the car for transport to some playgroups or farms.

We provide quality and fun childminding in a safe, warm and loving environment. If you would like more details or to arrange a visit then we would love to hear from you. We pride ourselves on being exceptional childminders and knowing that the children we mind love coming to us every day. All the parents we have minded for are happy to give references.

Other notes

We are very blessed to have a large detached property on Sutherland Grove with a large garden, lots of outdoor toys and a special turf play area just for the kiddies. They each also have their own room to sleep in as we believe sleep is vital to a childs development. There is a playroom and a separate sitting room that we use for reading and song times. Meals are eaten at the table and each child has their own seat. We believe that the love, support and care children receive during this time in their life is vital and that they each need to be treated as an individual.
