Fostering Support Team

The Fostering Support Team recruits and trains people who live in the community who would like to look after children and young people aged 0-18 in their own homes.
The children and young people need care as they can not live with their own parents. Foster carers are paid to do this work.
The team give:
- support and supervision to carers;
- organise payment;
- offer a training programme; and
- offer support groups.
To become a foster carer contact the team for an application pack, or look on the foster carers website. The section holds briefing meetings and training sessions before you become a full time carer. Dates of briefing meetings and training sessions are on the web site.
