What is Safeguarding? Adults (18+)

It is everyone's responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable people.  You should always report your concerns, even if the person you suspect to be abusing or neglecting a vulnerable person is someone you know well.

If you are being abused or are worried that a vulnerable person is at risk of being abused or neglected you should contact:

  • Adult Social Services Access Team on 020 8871 7707 accessteam@wandsworth.gov.uk  (after 5pm on weekdays and at weekends: 020 8871 6000)
  • In an emergency contact the Police on 999

For more information on the process and what will happen if you contact the Access Team, visit the Richmond and Wandsworth Safeguarding Adults Board website. https://www.richmond.gov.uk/sab
