Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formerly known as a Criminal Records Bureau or CRB check) searches your details against criminal records and other sources, including the Police National Computer. The check may reveal convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings.
To become an Ofsted registered Childminder you need to have an enhanced DBS check. People working with children or vulnerable people often need a DBS check.
Find out why checks are needed, what they are and what a check will involve, on the GOV.UK website. For further information visit the Disclosure and Barring Service website https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/disclosure-and-barring-service
