Aleksandra Hopper

I am an OFSTED registered childminder and I have been childminding since January 2014. I live just off Falcon Road, very near to Clapham Junction train station ( Grant Road entrance ). It's a great location with good transport links.

Prior to childminding, I was working as a nanny and maternity nurse for over 15 years and I can provide excellent references.

I hold the following qualifications:

BA (honours) in childhood and youth studies

Maternity Practioner

Foundation degree in Early Years

Safeguarding

First Aid

DBS

MA Childhood (currently in second year studying towards MA)

Our flat is spacious and was fully redecorated and finished just before the birth of my son 8 years ago. We also have a communal garden with lots of toys ( wendy house, kitchen, easel, ride on cars, sandpit, water table ) that we use when the weather is nice.

We like keeping things nice and tidy and the toys and all resources are regularly cleaned.
I have a single and double buggy and buggy boards to use with the children, that I maintain and keep clean regularly.
Children have their own individual travel cots for their naps with beddings that are washed weekly. Children also have their own cups for water and their own bibs for their meals.

I like structuring my day and planning activities to stimulate children and organise fun outings. I tend to keep a flexible routine to give children security, stability and fill their day with fun.

We enjoy lots of fun activities, as well as plenty of free play and children, are always encouraged to express their thoughts and wishes. Our home is filled with laughter and my son has inherited my sense of humour and high spirits. Our days are full of joy, happiness and music. When Children join my setting they become part of my family. They are enjoying their day and thriving and parents should be assured that their little ones are happy and content while away from them.

I communicate with parents and set up the day according to the childrens' needs. If a parent informs me that they have had a bad night we take it easy that day and provide the child with gentle support and plenty of rest. The same goes if they are a bit under the weather. The activities are adjusted to fit all ages and gender but most importantly to the child's individual abilities.

Learning journals are available for every child and they are a lovely reminder to see how the children grow and develop and for parents to have an insight into their child's day with us.

I have vacancies opening from 1st of February 2022,  for 2 full time or 3 part-time children aged 0 - 4 years old. I currently have a place for 1 baby under 12 months.
I am happy to do nursery pick-ups at lunchtime however I can only do school pick-ups from Sacred Heart in Battersea.

Two children under the age of 4. Priority goes to the younger ones - we would love to have a new baby joining in. As my son goes to Sacred Heart I can not offer any school drop off and pick-ups at schools other than Sacred Heart. I am, however, happy to pick up from nurseries in the area that finish at lunchtime.
